DRUSSA Short Courses Print

The final DRUSSA short course was held in Stellenbosch in early June. Dr Sara Grobbelaar outlines the aim of the short course as well as the resources that were made available at the event.

The purpose of the short course was to provide a consolidated over view of the programme thus far and to also run a workshop with DRUSSA leaders and champions on developing a M&E framework for RUM. We had dual objectives for the workshop;

  • To relate the previous 6 short course modules with an overarching framework for the core skillset of RU managers namely science communication, knowledge utilisation and uptake, bibliometrics and scientometrics;
  • To provide the participants with insight into the development of a framework where universities will have a view of how key objectives for institutionalising RUM can be monitored and evaluated.

During the short course a programme resource was provided which was distributed to participants in the form of a consolidated document with links to online resources that have been developed through the DRUSSA programme. The resource is intended as a tool to University leadership and students of knowledge utilisation to support the development of theoretical knowledge and insight and how that relates to practical and implementation insight.
